The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a Project Engineer with strong project management skills and either process engineering qualification or a sound understanding of process engineering who enjoys project delivery, coordination, problem solving and working closely with both office-based and workshop-based teams.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing assigned projects from internal handover through to procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, delivery, commissioning support and project close-out.
Site visits may also be required from time to time during project execution.

Key Responsibilities include:
Manage competing project schedules, actions and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
Review client scope of work, drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
Coordinate technical queries with clients, suppliers, engineering and the workshop.
Track project scope, costs, variations and delays.
Prepare project updates, meeting minutes and action registers.
Support quality and documentation requirements, including QA records, MDRs and close-out documentation.
Work with procurement and manufacturing teams to resolve project issues.




Escalate risks, delays and commercial issues early.
About You
You will be a driven, self-motivated Project Engineer who takes ownership of your work and follows through on commitments.
You will be organised, proactive, detail oriented and able to manage your time, priorities and project deliverables with limited supervision.
You will be comfortable dealing with clients, suppliers, engineers, tradespeople, project managers and workshop personnel.
You will also have the confidence to identify risks early, escalate issues where required and help keep projects moving.
Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally come from a manufacturing, fabrication, mining or heavy equipment environment, with strong project management capability and a sound understanding of process engineering.
A degree in Process Engineering, equivalent recognised qualification or relevant work experience will be highly regarded.
You will also bring:
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documents.
Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, fabrication, welding and assembly.
Working knowledge of project scope, schedule, cost, procurement and quality requirements.
Clear communication with clients, suppliers, trades and internal teams.
Commercial awareness of variations, budgets and schedule impacts.
Able to manage priorities, close out actions and maintain attention to detail.
Highly Regarded Experience
Mining,



mineral processing, thermal processing, OEM equipment or custom-engineered equipment.
Working with EPC or EPCM clients.
Fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, thermal equipment, rotating equipment or materials handling equipment.
Inspection and Test Plans, MDRs, FATs, QA documentation and project close-out requirements.
Project management software, ERP systems, document control systems or scheduling tools.
Australian Standards relevant to mechanical fabrication, materials, lifting, guarding, pressure equipment or structural steelwork.
Supporting factory acceptance testing, client inspections, site commissioning or field service activities.
Personal Attributes

Sound financial literacy, including the ability to understand project budgets, variations, cost impacts and project margins.
Strong problem-solving skills with good follow-through.
