About the role
Peters Packaging is seeking aDelivery Driver and Warehouse Operatorto join our dynamic team in Devon Park, SA.
This is apart-time positionoffering flexibility whilst contributing to the smooth operation of our warehousing and distribution services.
In this dual-role capacity, you will be integral to ensuring our customers receive their orders promptly and accurately, whilst maintaining our warehouse operations to the highest standards.
This position offers the opportunity to develop skills across both driving and warehouse management within a growing packaging distribution business.
Key responsibilities
Operating delivery vehicles to transport packaged goods to customers across the designated delivery area
Planning and executing efficient delivery routes to meet customer deadlines and service level agreements
Conducting vehicle safety checks and maintaining accurate records of fuel, mileage and maintenance
Loading and unloading goods safely, ensuring items are secure and protected during transit
Obtaining customer signatures and managing delivery documentation
Managing warehouse operations including receiving, storing and organising inventory
Picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently according to customer specifications
Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organisation, adhering to health and safety standards
Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (with appropriate certifications)
Conducting stock checks and reporting discrepancies to management
Communicating with customers regarding delivery updates and addressing queries professionally
What we're looking for
A valid driving licence with a clean driving record
Previous experience in delivery driving and/or warehouse operations
Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and roadworthy standards
Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry goods regularly, including boxes and packages of varying weights
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and packing
Reliable, professional demeanour with excellent customer service skills
Health and safety awareness with commitment to maintaining standards
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one (advantageous)
Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic IT skills (desirable)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
