About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert clinical leadership and support in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of older adults experiencing complex mental health conditions, including dementia-related behavioural and psychological symptoms.
Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based care, quality improvement initiatives, and best-practice mental health services across the community.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of consumers with complex mental health needs, including individuals living with dementia.
Deliver specialist assessments, care planning, intervention, and ongoing case management.
Provide education, guidance, and support to carers, families, and support networks.
Act as a clinical resource for nursing, medical, and allied health professionals.
Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical guidelines, quality improvement projects, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Collaborate with community agencies, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders to support positive consumer outcomes.
Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centred care principles.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
Current nursing registration with demonstrated experience in mental health nursing.
Strong clinical skills in the management of complex mental health presentations.
Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, relevant legislation, policies, and clinical frameworks.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
A commitment to person-centred and trauma-informed approaches to care.
The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: $109,767 - $115,813 per annum
Plus 12% employer superannuation
