ABOUT SAI AUTOCARE
SAI Autocare is a trusted and growing automotive workshop in Cannington, WA, specialising in mechanical repairs, logbook servicing, tyres, and EV/hybrid vehicles.
We have built a loyal customer base through honest, reliable service and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
As we scale, we need a Workshop Manager who takes real ownership of the floor and delivers results.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a hands-on leadership role where you own the workshop from the ground up job scheduling, team performance, customer relationships, and hitting revenue targets.
You will have clear KPIs, genuine autonomy, and a performance bonus structure that rewards you directly for what you achieve.
We are not looking for someone who just keeps the seats warm.
We need a manager who can identify problems before they become expensive, convert enquiries into booked jobs, and build a team culture where mechanics want to perform at their best.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead day-to-day workshop operations and ensure the floor runs efficiently, safely, and profitably
Own monthly revenue and gross profit targets your bonus depends on what you deliver
Schedule and allocate jobs to maximise bay utilisation and technician productivity
Manage customer enquiries, provide repair updates, approve quotes, and handle escalations professionally
Identify and convert upsell opportunities additional repairs, service packages, tyres, and maintenance items
Monitor job progress and ensure work is completed on time and to quality standards
Manage parts ordering, supplier relationships, and cost of goods
Recruit, onboard, train, and performance-manage the workshop team
Maintain WHS compliance, complete required registers, and enforce SOPs
Use workshop management software to schedule, invoice, and report
Provide weekly performance reporting to the owner including revenue, GP, conversion rate,



and customer satisfaction
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 3 years in a Workshop Manager, Service Manager, or Senior Service Advisor role
Proven track record of hitting or exceeding revenue and KPI targets be ready to talk numbers at interview
Strong ability to convert inbound phone and walk-in enquiries into booked jobs
Experience managing and developing a team of mechanics and/or apprentices
Sound knowledge of automotive mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and workshop operations
Experience with workshop management software (scheduling, invoicing, job cards)
High standard of customer service and complaint resolution skills
Automotive trade qualification preferred but strong experience will be considered
Current Australian driver's licence
