About the role
We are seeking a Customer Service & Takeaway Attendant to join the team at TROPIC PETROLEUM in Townsville, QLD.
This is acasual positionthat offers flexibility whilst delivering exceptional service to our customers.
In this role, you will be the friendly face of our operation, managing customer interactions and takeaway orders with professionalism and enthusiasm.
You will play a vital part in ensuring every customer leaves satisfied and eager to return.
Positions available at Ampol Garbutt, Ampol Pimlico & Ampol Roseneath.
What you'll be doing
Greeting customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor and attending to their needs promptly and courteously
Processing takeaway orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring customer specifications are met
Handling cash and card transactions with accuracy and maintaining proper record-keeping
Preparing and packaging takeaway items to the highest standards
Answering customer enquiries about products, services and menu options
Maintaining a clean and organised service area and front counter
Restocking supplies and ensuring product availability throughout your shift
Following health and safety guidelines, including food handling procedures where applicable
Assisting with stock rotation and identifying when items need replenishment
Building positive customer relationships and suggesting products or services to enhance their experience
What we're looking for
Previous experience in customer service, retail or hospitality environments is highly desirable
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers
A friendly, positive attitude and genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service




Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to casual shift work
Basic numeracy skills and comfort handling cash and electronic payments
Willingness to learn and adapt to company procedures and systems
Good personal presentation and attention to hygiene and cleanliness standards
Experience with takeaway or food service operations would be a significant advantage
