Cabaret Fringe Association

Adelaide

OverviewCabaret Fringe Association Inc creates open-access events and other opportunities for cabaret artists, producers and others to present their work to both city and rural audiences in South Australia, and beyond.
This is usually achieved through an annual Festival, as well as other programs and projects as determined by the Board.
As we are without funding for a Festival in ****, we are presenting monthly open-mic events called Cabaret Live, to give artists a platform to develop their work and build an audience following.
We are applying for grants to fund a Festival in ****, and have been fortunate to receive some substantial private donations from long-term supporters.
The Association holds DGR status and is able to receive tax-deductible donations.
Our current Treasurer is a Chartered Accountant who has given years of excellent service to the Association, but who now wishes to move on to new projects.
The RoleThe Treasurer ensures financial transparency and compliance, and supports the Board in making sound financial decisions.
The Treasurer has been responsible for:• budgeting,• finance-related areas of grant acquittals, • cash-flow management, • payment processing, payroll (we currently have no employees), and• weekly bookkeeping using Xero accounting software.
The volume of transactions is currently low.
If we hold a Festival, some accounting support could be provided.
Key Responsibilities• Financial Oversight: Monitor and report on the Association's finances; ensure accounts, budgets,

and reports are accurate and accessible to the Board.
Work with the appointed auditor to complete financial statements each year.
• Compliance: Ensure the Association meets all reporting and regulatory obligations, including to the ACNC and other bodies as required.
• Advice and Guidance: Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions.
What We're Looking For• Financial or accounting background (CPA/CA desirable)• Understanding of not-for-profit or small organisation finances• Governance or board experience (preferred, but not essential)• Passion for the arts and willingness to volunteer time and skills• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to the other Board members.
Time Commitment• Meetings are typically monthly (approximately 10 per year) and usually virtual, with an in-person meeting every few months.
Currently our meetings are held on Mondays at 4.30 pm for an hour.
• Board members are expected to attend and support the Association's activities as needed.
The Association holds insurance to cover Board members for work done for the Association(amongst other forms of cover).
If you are passionate about the arts and believe you can contribute to a Board that's small but mighty, we'd love to hear from you.

Please email your EOI to ******.
