About the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientedAccountantto join the team at IMPACT ACCOUNTING NQ on apart-time basis.
Based inAtherton, QLD ****, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to our accounting and taxation services whilst maintaining flexibility in your working arrangements.
As an Accountant, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality financial and taxation solutions to our clients, supporting the growth and success of our firm.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and review financial statements and taxation returns for individual and business clients
Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to support client decision-making
Manage bookkeeping activities, including processing transactions, reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Ensure compliance with taxation legislation and regulatory requirements
Liaise with clients to gather financial information and clarify accounting matters
Assist with tax planning strategies and identify opportunities for tax optimisation
Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation
Support senior accountants and managers on client engagements and special projects
What we're looking for
Formal qualification in accounting, such as a Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma of Accounting or equivalent professional qualification
Membership or progress towards membership with a recognised accounting body (IPA or similar) is highly desirable although not essential
Proven experience in accounting, taxation or bookkeeping roles, ideally within an accounting firm or in-house finance department
Strong proficiency with Xero accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Sound knowledge of taxation principles and Australian taxation law
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial work
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to clients
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
