We're a growing business building a client-facing web platform, and we need a technical person who can own the entire technology picture — from understanding what the business needs, to designing how the system is built, to making sure it's secure, reliable, and scalable.
You'll be the person we trust to make the key technology decisions, explain the trade-offs clearly, and then execute on them.
We need someone who thinks things through properly from the start and can stand behind their choices — so we can have real confidence in the foundations being built.
We work with modern AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, and we expect you to use them to move faster and smarter.
But AI is a force multiplier on top of real expertise — not a substitute for it.
The judgement, design decisions, and accountability for what gets built rest with you.
The platform won't stand still.
Part of the role is spotting where additional applications and tools could be brought in to improve the system, and integrating them well — we see real scope to keep building on what we offer.
What you'll own
System architecture
Design and document the full server and application architecture.
Choose the right infrastructure, hosting, and frameworks for a secure, scalable web platform.
Security
Take full ownership of security — authentication, authorisation, data protection, encryption, and compliance.
Client data must be protected at every layer.
Server-side development
Build and maintain the backend — APIs, databases, server logic, integrations, and deployment pipelines.
Responsible for performance, uptime, and reliability.
Business analysis
Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, map processes, and translate business needs into technical solutions that actually solve the problem.
Client-facing platform




Build and iterate on the web application our clients use.
You'll care about the experience they have, not just the code behind it.
Plain-language reporting
Keep leadership informed — what's been built, what decisions were made and why, and what's coming next, without the jargon.
What you need to bring
Server-side & backend
– Strong command of .
NET — this is our core stack and a must-have.
– Experience with SQL relational databases, data modelling, and query optimisation — also essential.
– Solid understanding of server-side architecture for web applications.
– Comfortable designing and building APIs, including database APIs.
– A plus, but not essential: other backend languages and frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Python/Django), NoSQL databases, cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern deployment practices such as CI/CD and containers.
Security
– Solid understanding of web application security — OWASP Top 10, common attack vectors, and how to design against them.
– Experience implementing authentication and authorisation systems (OAuth2, JWT, role-based access control).
– Data protection best practices — encryption at rest and in transit, secure credential management.
– Awareness of relevant compliance requirements (e.g. the Australian Privacy Principles and any industry-specific obligations).
Business analysis & communication
– Ability to gather and interpret business requirements from non-technical stakeholders.




– Comfortable documenting systems, decisions, and processes clearly.
– Confident explaining technical decisions in plain language to people who aren't developers.
Client delivery & relationships
– Work directly with Styleprint clients to understand their business and translate it into requirements for our systems.
– Conduct user and application training for clients.
– Manage issue and project tracking through the implementation process.
– Coordinate with external vendors to develop and run tests that confirm features work as intended.
– Strong client interaction and relationship-management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines.
AI-assisted development
– Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in a real project context.
– Understands that AI generates code — but a senior engineer reviews, validates, and is accountable for it, including reviewing and validating code produced by other developers, and knows when to accept, adjust, or push back.
Ownership & ways of working
– Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity — happy to own a problem end-to-end, from discovery and scoping through to delivery and iteration.
– The maturity to take on broader responsibility over time, as the platform and the business grow.
