About the Role
We are seeking skilled and experienced Switchboard Designers, to perform complex design assignments on switchboards, review and incorporate technical specifications and relevant standards and support the Lead Switchboard Designer and Switch room Electrical Engineer in delivery of projects.
Duties
Create and modify CAD designs for switchboards, control panels, and related systems in line with specifications and standards.
Support development and continuous improvement of modular design practices and internal design processes.
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and operations to enhance efficiency in design, materials, and construction methods.
Automate repetitive design tasks using CAD tools and custom solutions (e.g., spreadsheets, templates).
Liaise with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, ensure accurate designs, and support project delivery.
Review designs, assist with documentation (BOQs, reports, layouts), and support inspections, supplier coordination, and technical queries.
Skills & Experience
Degree or trade qualifications in Switchboard design or electrical engineering discipline.
1 year project engineering experience and 3 years switchboard designer/assembler experience.
AutoCAD proficiency.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering is Desirable.
