Aquaterro employs full time industrial design staff who are constantly working on new product design, and product development with our key manufacturing partners.
Aquaterro has in-house Industrial 3D Printing capability, for customer and in house use, as well as Laser Cutting and Engraving, Industrial Sewing and Rapid Prototyping facilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Product Development team, this individual will work on both current product development and existing product support.
Assist Aquaterro Design Capability (Textile, Industrial, Engineering, Graphic)
Design and development of tactical nylon products including belts, pouches, bags, garments, load bearing systems and Specialty Apparel
Drafting and refining patterns and technical packages
Cataloguing and maintaining pattern records for new and existing products
Leading the sampling and development process
Leading research and product analysis
Work closely with our in-house production team on recent developments and proof of concepts
Assist sourcing and cataloguing of raw materials and related information




Managing specification technical packs; including BOM (Bill of Materials) and Costing details
Develop skills and capability with Industrial sewing equipment.
Including, but not limited to; Laser Cutting, Automated Fabric Cutting Machine (Pathfinder), 3D Printers and CNC Equipment
Liaise and maintain relationships with local and offshore suppliers & manufacturers
Assist in the design, patternmaking, and sample/prototype manufacturing of various products.
Short-Run Fabrication for bespoke or custom items when and as required.
This individual must exhibit a high level of initiative, innovative thinking, as well as demonstrate the ability to work independently to develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity.
This position has design responsibility to deliver – at a high level - usability, feature functionality, product quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, whilst often meeting regulatory compliance.
Work with Aquaterro's Design Director & Business Development Managers (and from time to time with customers) in the development of user and system requirements for current and existing product offerings.

efficient operations.
You should be courteous, analytical, proactive, and organised.
Assist in translating the requirements of our customers into new product concepts and prototypes.
Work collaboratively with Aquaterro project teams to translate findings, team input, end-user needs/strategy and brand characteristics into authentic and usable interface product solutions for the real-world.
Research and select materials and components that complement design, usability and performance requirements.
Execute product design, planning and development while adhering to timelines and product targets.
Assist with and contribute to, the development of promotional materials in support of Aquaterro's products and services including product brochures/Spec Sheets, flyers, social media and tradeshows.
Must be and remain eligible for and maintain appropriate permits/licenses for those products which are required by the company and its clients.
Additionally, the incumbent must be and remain able to qualify for Australian Federal/Defence Security Clearance; must also be an acceptable person and qualify for employment in an ITAR registered Company and must undertake training and keep current of the requirements of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) from the United States of America.
Australian citizenship is required for this position due to security clearance and ITAR registration requirements.

State and Federal Police background checks
