About the role
Shannahan Crash Repairs is seeking aTrade Assistantto join our dynamic team in Queenstown, SA.
This is afull-time positionoffering an excellent opportunity to launch or develop your career in the automotive trades sector.
As a Trade Assistant, you will provide essential support to our experienced technicians and tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience whilst contributing to the delivery of high-quality crash repair services.
This role is integral to maintaining our workshop's efficiency and ensuring our clients receive outstanding service.
Key responsibilities
Assisting qualified technicians with vehicle crash repairs, panel work, and associated tasks under supervision
Preparing vehicles for repair work, including cleaning, documenting damage, and organising work areas
Handling tools, equipment, and materials responsibly, ensuring proper storage and maintenance
Supporting the safe removal and reinstallation of vehicle components as directed by senior staff
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Running errands, collecting parts, and liaising with suppliers as required
Assisting with vehicle inspections and quality checks under supervision
Supporting the team to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of workmanship
What we're looking for
A genuine interest in the automotive trades and crash repair industry
A strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to punctuality
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn automotive principles




Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety in the workplace
A valid driver's licence is essential
Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive trades or crash repair (preferred but not essential for motivated candidates)
Previous experience in automotive repair, panel beating, or related trades (preferred)
