Are you an experienced housekeeper who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments?
The St Vincent de Paul Society SA (Vinnies) is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team at the Vinnies Women's Crisis Centre.
This role plays an important part in ensuring our crisis accommodation facility remains clean, comfortable, and ready to support women and children experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence, and other crisis situations.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the centre.
Your work will help ensure guests are welcomed into a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment during a challenging time in their lives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and prepare vacated guest rooms to a high standard, including making beds, restocking supplies, and preparing rooms for new arrivals.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of shared indoor and outdoor areas in accordance with established cleaning schedules and procedures.
Organise and store household supplies, food deliveries, linen, donated items, and other stock to ensure storage areas remain clean, orderly, and accessible.
Restock consumables and household supplies as required.
Monitor facilities, furniture, and equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and report hazards or incidents as required.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in a housekeeping, cleaning,



or facilities support role within a commercial or professional setting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning and hygiene standards.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively within allocated timeframes.
A respectful, professional, and customer-focused approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact appropriately within a sensitive community services environment.
Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Desirable
Experience working within community services, emergency accommodation, aged care, healthcare, hospitality, or similar environments.
Understanding of the needs of people experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, or crisis.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Employment in this role is subject to:
A satisfactory National Police Check upon commencement and every three years thereafter.
A satisfactory Working with Children Check / DHS Child-Related Screening upon commencement and every five years thereafter.
Completion of a pre-employment health assessment and any further assessments required to ensure fitness for duty.
Ongoing legal right to work in Australia.
