About the Role
As a Planning Assistant, you will support our Planning Team in the preparation, coordination, and administration of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), permits, and project documentation.
Working alongside experienced Traffic Planners, you will receive hands-on training and mentorship while gaining exposure to a variety of infrastructure, utility, road maintenance, and construction projects.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to learn.
What You'll Be Doing
Assisting with the preparation of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs)
Coordinating permit applications and approvals with road authorities and stakeholders
Managing project documentation and maintaining planning records
Liaising with clients, traffic controllers, supervisors, and project teams
Monitoring permit conditions and project requirements
Supporting planners with project scheduling and administration
Maintaining compliance with Austroads, DTP, Council, and industry requirements
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Planning Department

About You
You may already have experience in administration, traffic management, construction, infrastructure, logistics, or project coordination — however, experience is not essential.
We're looking for someone who:
Has strong attention to detail
Possesses excellent communication skills
Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
Has strong computer literacy, particularly within Microsoft Office
Enjoys working in a rapid-paced environment
Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Is committed to professional development and career growth
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience in traffic management or construction industries
Understanding of permits and stakeholder coordination
Knowledge of road authority requirements
TMI or traffic management qualifications
