About the Role:
We are currently seeking 2 Poultry Farm Hands to join one of our valued clients at a commercial rearing farm in West Wyalong, NSW.
This is a hands-on role assisting with the daily care and development of young poultry in a modern farming environment.
Location: West Wyalong, NSW ****
Job Type: Casual (Labour Hire)
Commencement Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm, with occasional weekend work as required.
Position Overview:
As a Poultry Farm Hand, you will assist with the daily care and welfare of young poultry in climate-controlled sheds.
This physically demanding role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is reliable, and takes pride in maintaining high animal welfare and biosecurity standards.
There is potential for permanent employment with the host employer for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Assisting with the daily care and handling of young poultry
Conducting routine shed inspections, including feed, water, lighting and ventilation checks
Monitoring bird health and reporting any concerns
Maintaining clean sheds and equipment to meet biosecurity standards
Carrying out general farm duties and basic maintenance as required
Following Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies and farm procedures
Working as part of a team to support the day-to-day operation of the farm




Requirements:
Previous poultry, farming or outdoor work experience is desirable but not essential
Physically fit and capable of repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting and prolonged standing
Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to follow instructions and established farm procedures
Reliable transport to and from work
Own enclosed safety boots and high-visibility shirt
Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
Strong communication skills and commitment to workplace safety
Important Biosecurity Notice:
Due to strict biosecurity regulations, applicants must not:
Have regular contact with birds or pigs outside of work (including pets kept at your residence)
Live with someone employed in another poultry or pig operation
All staff must shower on-site before every shift and follow all quarantine procedures.
Visa Holders Welcome:
Must be currently located in Australia with valid work rights
Must have a high standard of written and spoken English
Eligible for visa extension under subclass 417 specified work
