Key Responsibilities
· Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on the bus fleet, including planning and undertaking repairs, requesting required parts and materials, completing accurate service and repair records, and ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards.
· Support workshop operations and team effectiveness, including assisting the Leading Hand and Asset Manager with mentoring apprentices, maintaining tools and equipment, and contributing positively to a cooperative team environment.
· Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by following all safety procedures, safe‐work practices, and adhering to the company's Business Management System (B.M.S.) policies and operational requirements.
Key Requirements
Qualifications
· Certificate III Heavy Vehicle Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
· Certificate in Trade Studies (or equivalent)
· Current MR driving licence (HR highly desirable)




· Additional mechanical or engineering-related qualifications (highly desirable)
Experience
· At least 2 years' experience in Mechanical repairs and maintenance of heavy or large vehicles preferably within a bus or commercial fleet environment
Responsibility and Authority
· Complete mechanical repairs, servicing, and inspections to required compliance and quality standards.
· Complete work orders, job cards, and administrative tasks accurately and within required timeframes.
· Attend breakdowns and incidents to assess, repair, and/or recover vehicles as directed.
· Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
· Maintain workshop housekeeping standards and ensure tools and equipment are clean, secure, and properly stored.
· Order parts and materials within approved processes to support timely maintenance completion.
· Communicate effectively with maintenance and operations teams to support fleet availability.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance function.
· Perform other duties as delegated by the Line Manager in line with skills and competency.
