Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) service provides 24/7 tailored supports that enable people with disability to live safely in their home while developing everyday living skills, increasing independence and maintaining strong connections with family, friends and their community.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you'll support participants to live safely, confidently and as independently as possible in their own home.
Using a person-centred, Active Support approach, you'll be guided by each participant's NDIS goals and individual support plan, you'll support participants to make choices, develop new skills, participate in their community and live the life they choose with dignity, purpose and connection.
Responsibilities include:
Providing support in accordance with individual support plans and NDIS goals




Assisting with personal care while promoting dignity, privacy and independence
Supporting medication administration in line with organisational policies
Assisting with meal planning, cooking, nutrition and household tasks
Supporting participants to develop daily living and independent living skills
Encouraging community participation, social inclusion and recreational activities
Providing transport to appointments, employment, education and community activities
Implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans where applicable
Completing accurate documentation, progress notes and incident reporting
Working collaboratively with families, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams
Providing support across a 24/7 roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays
We use anActive Supportapproach, working alongside participants rather than doing things for them.
Our focus is on building confidence, capacity and independence while supporting informed decision-making, dignity of risk and meaningful participation in everyday life.
About You
You're someone who is passionate about helping people build confidence, develop everyday living skills and live as independently as possible in their own home and community.
You'll have:
A genuine passion for supporting people living with disability
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A positive, flexible and reliable approach
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
A commitment to participant rights, safeguarding and inclusion
Experience supporting people with:




Intellectual disability
Autism
Psychosocial disability
Mental health
Complex support needs
High intensity supports
Positive Behaviour Support
will be highly regarded.
Essential Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Disability, Community Services or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working with Children Check
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
Ability to use mobile technology for documentation and communication
