Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:

Learns quickly and retains information without requiring continual supervision.
Is physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks safely and confidently.
Follows systems, checklists, and procedures accurately and consistently.
Is organised, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks without constant direction.
Works well both independently and as part of a small, close-knit team.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual handling tasks.
Is confident using smartphones and basic computer applications.
Holds a current Class C driver's licence.
Previous experience in the funeral industry, healthcare, aged care, emergency services, logistics, or customer service will be highly regarded, however full training will be provided to the right applicant.
Availability & Expectations
Because every funeral is different, no two working days are the same.
Our team works around the needs of the families we serve, so flexibility and reliability are essential.
Be available to work varying weekdays,



including early starts and occasional changes to finishing times, depending on funeral service requirements.
Be willing to accept shifts allocated according to operational needs.
Understand that funeral services and family requirements determine our schedules, therefore reliability and flexibility are essential.
Enjoy working in a varied environment where each day presents different responsibilities and opportunities.
Take ownership of your role by using initiative, following established procedures, and completing your responsibilities with minimal supervision once trained.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare for and assist with the conduct of funeral services in a professional and respectful manner.
Undertake routine transfers of deceased persons from hospitals, aged care facilities, private residences and other locations to our mortuary.
Successful applicants will be trained to confidently perform these duties independently using approved procedures and safe manual-handling techniques.
Work hands-on in the mortuary, learning to respectfully prepare, dress and care for deceased persons.
Successful applicants will be trained to confidently perform these duties independently in accordance with company procedures.
Safely move coffins, funeral equipment and other operational items using approved manual-handling techniques and modern lifting equipment.
Prepare funeral documentation,



organise service paperwork and complete operational checklists accurately.
Visit families when required to obtain signatures and assist with procedural documentation.
Drive company hearses and other company vehicles (automatic transmission).
Take pride in maintaining the presentation of company vehicles, equipment, mortuary facilities, stock and work areas to a consistently high standard.
This includes cleaning vehicles, sterilising equipment, returning items to their designated locations, identifying stock requiring replenishment and maintaining an organised, safe and professional workplace.
Follow established systems and procedures while taking ownership of your responsibilities and completing tasks independently once trained.
Assist with general operational, administrative and funeral-related duties as required.
