Goosies Sports and Rec Club Position Title: Bar & Bistro Manager Company: North Mackay Bowls Club Inc (trading as Gooseponds Sports & Recreation Club) Location: North Mackay, QLD **** Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum + superannuation Employment type: Full-time About the role Gooseponds Sports & Recreation Club are looking for an experienced Bar & Bistro Manager for an immediate start.
This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in North Mackay, QLD.
The Bar & Bistro Manager will ensure customers experience high-quality bistro products and service in a professional and timely manner, and exercise patron care.
The Bar & Bistro Manager works in consultation with the Head Chef on style and presentation, and in accordance with all relevant regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties o Lead and manage the bistro and bar team, including rostering and wage control.
o Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, hygiene standards and licensing laws.
o Manage and oversee the delivery of efficient, high quality customer service.
o Monitor product quality and uphold Food Safety Standards and hygiene practices.
o Maintain a secure workplace and environment for customers, contractors and staff.
o Work closely with the Head Chef and front of house staff to manage food preparation and presentation.
o Plan menus in consultation with the Head Chef and introduce new specials and menu items in line with current trends.




o Plan and organise special functions and events.
o Arrange the purchasing and pricing of goods in line with budget.
o Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions.
o Ensure dining facilities comply with health and safety regulations and are clean, functional and presentable.
o Confer with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service.
o Select, train and supervise wait and kitchen staff.
o Take reservations, greet guests and assist with taking orders.
o Report to the Operations Manager Qualifications, Skills and Experience required o A minimum Diploma qualification in hospitality, or at least 3 years' full-time experience in a restaurant or bistro managerial role within the hospitality industry o Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (LLD) o HACCP Certification o Current First Aid certificate o Knowledge in Associations Incorporations Act, Customer Service Principles, Workplace Health and Safety Act, Food Act, Liquor Act o Customer Liaison, Excellent communication o Managerial skills, Human/Interpersonal Relations o Accurate cash handling and balancing o Professional/trustworthy, Punctual/reliable/dependable, Leadership/assertive o Well spoken, courteous, self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic
