The Warren Region is home to the well-known D'Entrecasteaux and Walpole Nornalup national parks as well as the recently created Walpole Wilderness area and Walpole Nornalup Inlets Marine Park.
Many other parks and reserves as well as significant areas of State forest make up the majority of the land that we manage.
The landscape of the region include a diversity of coastal heath, tall karri forests to open jarrah and wandoo woodlands to the remnant Tingle forest.
The region has wetlands of international and national significance, pristine estuaries and wild rivers.
We are currently seeking an Operations Officer to join our team.
Participates in the planning, organisation and implementation of district works programs, including monitoring and reporting of other agencies' activities on departmental managed lands.
Liaises with community leaders, key stakeholders and community groups in a positive and informed manner.
Coordinates the estate management and land use planning advice within the district, including requirements relating to reported and potential contaminated sites.
This includes liaising with mining companies, public utilities and being involved in district rehabilitation programs.
Undertakes an active role in prescribed burning and bushfire suppression and other emergency management operations.

Selection Criteria




Knowledge of and some experience in the operational implementation of works programs associated with natural land management or a closely related field or technical area, with a preference for experience in nature conservation.
Evidence of good interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in liaising with external organisations; including other government agencies, community, indigenous and special interest groups.
Some knowledge and experience of working effectively as part of a team and independently; showing a high level of self-motivation, and skills in organising and implementing works programs.
Knowledge of flora, fauna and biodiversity conservation values in Western Australia with a preference for knowledge pertinent to the South West of Western Australia.
