Dean of Faculty - Education - Tabor College

The Faculty of Education prepares teachers for all school sectors and offers Bachelor and Master of Teaching awards at Primary and Secondary levels, an Early Learning Bachelor award (currently being accredited), a Bachelor of Education Studies award, and Postgraduate Master of Education and Graduate Certificate of Leadership awards.

We are a mid-sized provider undergoing growth and significant changes in relation to new offerings and self-accrediting status preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the faculty in all its operations and growth
· Provide creative and highly relational leadership (supported by a Deputy Dean) across academic operations and performance of the Education Faculty
· Contribute to the ongoing quality of Tabor's academic model, including expectations across education and research
· Contribute to broader organisational partnerships and strategic governance quality
· Lead and support targeted strategic initiatives for growth and innovation
· Partner with an Executive Dean to support staffing
· Support key institutional priorities including online delivery and new programs such as Early Childhood Education
The Successful Candidate Will Bring:
· Demonstrated ability to effect growth leadership
· Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, including managing performance, workload allocation and team cohesion
· Essential character qualities of creativity, emotional and spiritual intelligence, and a sense of humour
· A sound understanding of the national tertiary landscape including emerging regulatory, and competing, expectations
· A practical, solutions-oriented mindset,



with the ability to operate effectively in a complex Initial Teacher Education environment
· The ability to lead through influence, and build trust and alignment across sector stakeholders
· An innovative and forward-looking approach to academic leadership and organisational improvement
· A collegiate and adaptive leadership style, with the capacity to align and collaborate across faculties
· Alignment with Tabor's Christian mission, values, and commitment to meaningful and formational education
Qualifications:
Suitable academic qualifications (Doctorate preferred)
Authority to teach into one or more areas of Tabor's Education awards
Sound research and academic knowledge and skills
