About us
The Medical Unit at Rockhampton Hospital delivers around-the-clock care for adults with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
The 32-bed unit includes a dedicated Stroke Unit, bariatric facilities and provides specialised care for high-dependency medical patients, cardiac conditions, stroke, dementia, delirium, alcohol and drug detoxification, and patients transitioning from Intensive Care and Coronary Care.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital, the unit is committed to providing safe, patient-centred care that supports positive health outcomes for the Central Queensland community.
About the role
Provide advanced clinical leadership in the delivery of safe, evidence-based care for patients with acute and complex medical conditions, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
Coordinate patient care and ward operations, including admissions, discharges, transfers and patient flow, to support efficient, patient-centred service delivery.
Lead clinical decision-making and patient safety, recognising and responding to deteriorating patients while ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and best practice.
Drive quality improvement and clinical excellence by leading NSQHS portfolio responsibilities, promoting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of care.
About you
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with advanced clinical expertise in acute medical nursing and the ability to deliver evidence-based, person-centred care for patients with complex health needs.
Strong clinical leadership and coordination skills,
with the ability to make sound clinical decisions, manage patient care, lead multidisciplinary collaboration, and mentor and support nursing staff.
Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and best practice, with experience in risk management, clinical governance, audits, evidence-based practice and implementing service improvements.
Excellent communication, critical thinking and professional integrity, with a dedication to ongoing learning, education, reflective practice and achieving positive patient and organisational outcomes.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $87,728 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $***** - $***** p.h.
