Hyundai Rotem Company (HRC) was founded in **** and since that time, has been leading the industry globally by delivering critical national infrastructure in over 50 countries.
A leader in the Korean rail industry, HRC has succeded in developing high-speed trains and is now establishing their presence in the Australian market.
Currently, the Australian operation of HRC is working on two major projects:
The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project - a joint venture between HRC, UGL and MEA, this project is delivering a fleet of new intercity trains for operation in the NSW electrified rail network.
The fleet comprises of 55 Long Units and 70 Short Units for the Newcastle, Blue Mountains, South Coast and Central Coast Lines; and
The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) - a project commissioning, designing and constructing a new manufacturing facility in Torbanlea Qld and a new maintenance facility in Ormeau Qld.
It includes manufacturing and delivering 65 EMU Train sets (390 cars) by the end of ****.
Combined local and international design teams and suppliers will work together to ensure the delivery of manufacturing requirements and associated documentation to ensure that train sets locally manufactured in Australia meet the design, compliance, manufactuability, reliability, maintainability and safety specifications for the trains operational life for a minimum of at least 35 years.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer (Electrical) to join our Reliability team based at the Kangy Angy Maintenance Centre on the NSW Central Coast.




This is an exciting opportunity for a recent engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience supporting one of Australia's most significant rail projects.
This is a fixed-term 2 year contract with a view to go perm and your contribution could earn you an Electrical Engineer title at the end of this.
As a Graduate Engineer (Electrical), you will play a key role in supporting maintenance and engineering activities by assisting with fault analysis, technical reporting and documentation management, Working within a team-oriented and supportive environment, you will gain valuable exposure to rolling stock maintenance, reliability engineering, technical investigations, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Fault Analysis & Technical Reporting
Assist in analysing faults arising during maintenance and service operations.
Support investigation activities through review of ER logs and fault records.
Prepare technical reports and assist with reliability assessments.
Contribute to fault prevention and continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Engineering Support
Maintain technical records, engineering documentation, and work orders.
Support technical investigations and engineering change processes.
Assist with ECR (Engineering Change Request) and FI (Field Issue) activities.
Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date,



and compliant.
Communication & Stakeholder Support
Support reporting requirements and technical responses
Assist in resolving technical complaints and quality-related issues.
Participate in meetings with key stakeholders including UGL and Sydney Trains.
About You
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, or Mechatronics).
Fluent English language skills (written and verbal).
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication, reporting, and technical documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Willingness to work onsite at the Kangy Angy Maintenance Centre.
Graduate visa or full working rights in Australia
Desirable
Previous engineering, technical support, or maintenance experience (including internships or university placements).
Exposure to rolling stock, transport, aviation, manufacturing, heavy industry, or similar technical environments.
Interest in reliability, maintenance, and technical investigations.
