Quality Assurance Supervisor | Steel Manufacturing

Our client is a well-established steel processing and manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor/QA & Safety Officer to lead the company's quality systems while overseeing workplace health and safety across the operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has built their career within steel processing, steel manufacturing or steel fabrication and enjoys driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working closely with production and management, you will take ownership of the Quality Management System, maintain compliance with relevant standards and support a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System.
Develop, review and implement quality procedures and work instructions.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.
Investigate non-conformances (NCRs), identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Conduct internal quality audits and monitor quality performance.
Work closely with production to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
Prepare quality documentation, reports and management reviews.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.
Workplace Health & Safety
Maintain and improve workplace health and safety systems.
Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate inductions, toolbox meetings and safety training.
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures.
Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
Previous Quality Assurance experience withinsteel processing, steel manufacturing or steel fabrication.
Experience maintaining Quality Management Systems.
Strong understanding of ISO **** principles and quality documentation.
Experience investigating NCRs and implementing corrective actions.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across production and management teams.
Essential
Experience within a steel processing, steel manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, or the willingness to obtain one if not already held.
Current Australian driver's licence.
Full Australian working rights.
