Bakehouse on Somerville is looking for an experienced Baker to join our growing team.
We're a busy, family-owned bakery in Winthrop, producing a wide range of quality breads, rolls, pastries, sweets and savoury products every day.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a supportive team and is looking for a long-term opportunity in a bakery that values quality, consistency and continuous improvement.
About the role
As part of our bakery team, you'll be involved in all aspects of production, including:
Mixing and preparing doughs
Moulding and shaping products
Proofing and baking
Producing breads, rolls, pastries, sweets and savoury items to a consistently high standard
Operating commercial bakery equipment, including mixers, moulders, bun rounders, proofers and ovens
Maintaining high food safety and cleanliness standards
Assisting with stock control and ingredient ordering
Working collaboratively with the team to improve production, quality and efficiency
What we're looking for
Previous commercial bakery experience
Ability to confidently complete all stages of bakery production, from mixing through to baking




Experience operating commercial bakery equipment
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality products
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Someone who enjoys working as part of a supportive team and contributing to a positive workplace culture
What we offer
Competitive salary of$75,000–$90,000 plus super, depending on experience, skills and roster
$1,000 sign-on bonus, plus a further$1,000 retention bonus after six months
