Primary objective
Responsible to the Officer in Charge for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the Alyangula Police Station, Visiting
Officers' Quarters (VOQ), and police cells.
Duties include grounds maintenance, cleaning and refuelling police vehicles, and
operating the police boat as required.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Clean and refuel police vehicles to maintain operational readiness.
2. Perform grounds and facility maintenance of the police station and Visiting Officers' Quarters (VOQ).
3.
Maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and presentation of police cells and Visiting Officers' Quarters to required standards.
4. Provide laundering and linen services for the police station and Visiting Officers' Quarters as required.
5. Provide passenger transport services, including airport transfers.
6. Collect, transport and distribute freight, supplies and equipment as required.
7. Operate and maintain the police vessel in accordance with operational and maritime safety requirements.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current Northern Territory Driver Licence or ability to obtain.
2. MAR***** Certificate II in Maritime Operations, or ability to obtain.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet operational requirements.
5. Experience in grounds and general facility maintenance.
6. Experience in cleaning, housekeeping and laundry services.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
9. Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS), Equity and Diversity principles.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and/or significant experience in the carpentry or building field.
2. Current First Aid Certificate.
3. MAR***** Certificate II in Maritime Operations
