About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established WA contractor delivering structural, mechanical and civil construction projects across Western Australia.
They are seeking a capable Workshop Leading Hand / Supervisor to lead workshop delivery, coordinate a skilled team of trades, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You'll be trusted to manage priorities and workflow with a high level of autonomy, working closely with the Operations Manager.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced workshop professional seeking genuine ownership of workshop operations and is based in Fremantle, with occasional travel to Perth metro and regional project sites.What You'll Be Doing
Take ownership of daily workshop operations, workflow and priorities
Lead and support carpentry, fabrication and warehouse teams to deliver project outcomes
Plan, schedule and coordinate workshop activities, fabrication and mobilisation to align with project delivery requirements
Manage workshop materials, stock, consumables and asset registers, ensuring efficient control of resources
Oversee servicing and maintenance of plant, vehicles and compliance of lifting, rigging and fire safety equipment via external providers
Work closely with the Operations Manager, maintaining IMS records,



providing progress updates and driving a safe, high-quality workshop environment

Exposure to diverse structural, mechanical and civil projects across WA
Autonomy to run workflow, priorities and day-to-day workshop outcomes
Key leadership role in a growing and well-established WA contractor
What You'll BringStrong experience in workshop supervision or leading hand roles (3–5+ years minimum)
Trade qualification in carpentry, fabrication, welding or related construction trade
Proven ability to lead teams and manage workflow in a busy workshop environment
Strong understanding of workshop operations, asset control, QA systems and HSEQ requirements
Practical mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving ability and ownership mindset
HR Driver's Licence, White Card and High Risk Work Licences (LF, DG, RI and/or CV) highly regarded
