headspace Early Psychosis offers expert support for young people who are experiencing an early episode of psychosis or are at risk of developing psychosis, using the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) model of care.
This model provides long-term wrap around support to young people through case management, functional recovery support, vocational education support, lived experience workers and psychiatric engagement.
About the Team
The Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) manages all enquiries and referrals to South-East Queensland headspace Early Psychosis, offering triage and assessments in a hybrid centre-based and outreach engagement model.
South-East Early Psychosis spans across Brisbane South and Gold Coast PHN catchment areas, so travel in fleet cars is required in this role.
Day to day work in MATT is varied and includes opportunities for comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, clinical formulation development, and planning clinical recommendations.
This work also involves advocacy and clinical liaison with external providers and relevant stakeholders.
MATT works across a 7-day roster, 364 days per year.
MATT operates from 7am-6pm Mon, Thurs & Fri, 7am-8pm Tues & Wed, and 10am-6pm weekends and public holidays.
This is a shift work position and includes Outreach across Brisbane South and Gold Coast regions.
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate Senior Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team on a full-time basis.The salary for this role ranges between $100,785 and $114,****** plus super, depending on skills, knowledge, and experience.
In this role, you'll lead intake, triage and assessment across South-East Queensland, working in a multidisciplinary team supporting young people experiencing or at risk of psychosis.
Reporting to the Team Leader,
as a Senior Clinician you will:
Manage and action enquiries, intake and assessments coming through to hEP.
Complete phone triages and face to face comprehensive assessments, capturing information in comprehensive reports and formulations.
Present case formulations at multidisciplinary team meetings and run other meetings, as required.
Take a lead role in a multi-disciplinary team delivering evidence-based interventions, working collaboratively with young people, their families, and their supports.
Provide clinical leadership to our Clinicians and day to day shift co-ordination, role modelling organisational values.
Respond to crisis phone calls and situations when necessary.
Be flexible in supporting young people accessing hEP, which may include supporting Functional Recovery groups and providing Case Management as required.
Work closely with all hEP staff, including the functional recovery team, case management team, psychiatrists and lived experience workers.
Establish and maintain strong networks with relevant organisations and stakeholders, including the hEP case management team located at headspace Southport.
About You
You're an engaging individual, with the ability to connect with young people and families who are navigating complex mental health challenges and difficult life experiences.
You have a genuine passion and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people and their families.
You will also possess the following skills and experience:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Counselling),and eligibility for membership of an appropriate skilled body.
Demonstrated significant experience in mental health care, including completion of mental health assessments, risk assessments, clinical formulations and psychosocial treatment for young people experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, problem solve and support more junior staff in the absence of direct supervision.
A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong time management skills and ability to balance workloads while maintaining self-care.
