About the Opportunity
As a Social Worker Level 3 - Senior Clinician (After Hours ED), you will provide specialist crisis psychosocial support to patients and their families/carers experiencing acute illness, trauma, crisis, and complex social circumstances working within Wyong Hospital Emergency Department.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality social work services that promote safe, person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
The position is part of the broader Wyong Inpatient team and plays a key role in supporting patients through some of their most challenging life experiences while contributing to service development, education, and leadership across the Social Work service.
In this role you will:
Deliver comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, counselling, advocacy, case planning, and referral services for patients and their families/carers.
Provide specialist support and intervention for vulnerable and at-risk patients, including matters relating to child protection, domestic and family violence, elder abuse, victims of crime, and risk of self-harm.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and external service providers to facilitate coordinated care and seamless transitions between services.
Provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring, and support to Social Work staff and students while contributing to service improvement, education, and quality initiatives.
The position is permanent part-time and the working days are Thursday / Friday and Saturday from ********* ******* hours per week)

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number).
A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the Social Work Senior Clinician position.
Significant demonstrated social work experience in the clinical specialty area and a well-developed understanding of the psychosocial issues that arise for patients and their families during chronic and acute illness and trauma.
Demonstrated experience and skill in providing leadership, supervision and mentor support to staff and students as well as experience as a proactive senior member of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to effectively time manage, prioritise work, have a flexible approach to clinical and non-clinical demands, manage and respond to stressful situations and ability to work with minimal supervision non-clinical demands, manage and respond to stressful situations and ability to work with minimal supervision.
