Part time Ongoing Contract
Hands-on role supporting Food Technology & Hospitality

We are seeking a suitably experienced Food Technology & Hospitality Assistant to join our College technology team on a Part-Time Ongoing (0.73 FTE) basis.
This position works in partnership with Food Technology teaching staff to provide technical and practical support for Food Technology and Hospitality programs.
The role is responsible for preparing practical learning activities, maintaining resources and learning spaces, supporting food safety and hygiene practices, and ensuring a safe, organised and effective learning environment.
The days and hours of work are:
Three days per week: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
One day per week: 10:30 am – 5:30 pm (VET Hospitality)
Please note:The successful applicant will be required to work four days per week.
While the hours of work will remain consistent, the days worked may change from time to time to align with the College timetable.
Flexibility to accommodate these changes is essential.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing equipment, ingredients and resources to support Food Technology and Hospitality practical classes, demonstrations and learning activities.
Providing practical assistance to teachers and students during practical lessons, ensuring a positive, protected and effective learning environment.
Assisting with the preparation, presentation and serving of food for practical classes, VET Hospitality programs and College functions.
Maintaining the Food Technology Room, Kitchen and Restaurant to a high standard, ensuring equipment, facilities and learning spaces are clean, organised and ready for use.
Monitoring and maintaining food supplies, equipment and consumables,
including ordering stock in consultation with teaching staff.
Completing routine cleaning, food safety and maintenance tasks to support the efficient operation of the Food Technology and Hospitality learning areas.
Contributing to a collaborative team environment while maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety.
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
A current and valid Food Handling Certificate.
Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
A commitment to maintaining safe work practices and complying with College policies.
An understanding of, and commitment to, the values and mission of Catholic education.
