About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionateKey Connectors / Mentorsto join our team at our Thebarton, SA **** location.
This is apart-time positionoffering flexibility to suit your lifestyle whilst making a meaningful impact on young people's lives.
As a Key Connector / Mentor, you will serve as a vital link between students and support services, fostering positive relationships and providing guidance to help students succeed both academically and personally.
This role is strategically key to our organisation as it directly contributes to student wellbeing, engagement, and overall success.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with students, acting as a consistent point of contact and support
Identify student needs and connect them with appropriate internal and external resources and services
Provide one-to-one mentoring and guidance to help students develop resilience, confidence, and life skills
Support students in setting and achieving personal, academic, and career goals
Monitor student progress and wellbeing, raising concerns with relevant team members when necessary
Participate in group sessions, workshops, and activities designed to enhance student engagement and belonging
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and support provided
Collaborate with teachers, families, and other support professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic student support
Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and positive behaviour
What we're looking for
Genuine passion for supporting young people and making a positive difference in their lives
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students from diverse backgrounds
Strong organisational skills and reliability, with the ability to manage multiple student relationships
Patience, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to student support
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners
Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively about supporting student needs
Relevant qualifications in education Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care / Bachelor of Education Early Childhood.
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential
Previous experience in education, ECEC roles are highly valued.
