Join the Greater Geelong & Borough of Queenscliff (GGQ) Mental Health and Wellbeing Local, a collaborative partnership between Barwon Health, Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd, Wellways Australia and ERMHA365.
Guided by the principles of hope, inclusion and person-centred care, the GGQ Local is transforming the way mental health support is delivered by providing seamless, integrated services that make it easier for consumers, carers and providers to access the right support.

Role
As a Link Worker employed by Wellways, you will play a vital role in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges or social isolation to reconnect with their communities and achieve their personal goals.
In this rewarding role, you will use your lived experience, alongside your education and training, to empower consumers to develop confidence, independence and lasting social connections.
Working directly with consumers, families and carers, you will identify opportunities that align with each person's interests and aspirations; whether that's attending community groups, exploring sporting clubs, accessing local activities, or building confidence using public transport.
By fostering inclusion and strengthening community networks, you will help people develop the skills,
relationships and supports they need to actively participate in community life and improve their overall wellbeing.
You will need:
Cert IV Peer Work (Mental Health or AOD) or Intentional Peer Support or less formal qualifications with specialized skills sufficient to perform at this level
Knowledgeable in accessing a range of relevant community resources, particularly in the areas of health, drugs and alcohol, legal, income support, employment and recreation
A commitment to Person centred practice and maximizing the opportunities and support for people with a mental illness or psychological distress within their local communities
You will also need:
Current valid Driver's License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
Right to Work within Australia
Satisfactory National Police Records Check (valid within the last 12 months)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
