About the role
We are seeking anExperienced Disability Support Workerto join our team in Geelong, VIC.
This is acasual positionthat offers flexibility whilst providing essential support to people with disability in our local community.
As an Experienced Disability Support Worker, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, person-centred support that enables our participants to achieve their goals and participate meaningfully in community life.
This role requires someone with proven experience in disability support who can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
What you'll be doing
Providing direct personal care and assistance to participants with disability, including support with daily living activities, mobility and personal hygiene
Supporting participants to access community activities, social engagement and recreational opportunities aligned with their goals and preferences
Assisting with meal preparation, shopping and household management tasks in line with participant support plans
Building positive relationships with participants based on trust, respect and understanding of their individual needs and preferences




Maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation of support provided and participant progress
Communicating effectively with participants, families, colleagues and other service providers to ensure coordinated support
Assisting participants with transport to appointments, activities and community engagements as required
Supporting participants to develop skills and independence where appropriate, encouraging self-determination and choice
Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, duty of care requirements and safeguarding standards
Contributing to a positive, inclusive team environment and supporting colleagues where needed
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar support role within community or disability services
Knowledge of disability support best practice, person-centred care principles and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with participants from diverse backgrounds
Physical capacity to assist participants with personal care and mobility support as required
Ability to work flexibly,



manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing participant needs
A commitment to safeguarding principles, confidentiality and duty of care
Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
Current relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent) are preferred
Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred
A valid driver's licence and reliable access to transport are advantageous
