Magnus Kahl Seeds is seeking a energetic, results-driven Sales Trialling Representative to drive the growth of our commercial onion seed portfolio.
Working closely with and being mentored by the Global Sales Manager, this role is based out of our Merbein regional hub.
This is a highly mobile role where you will be frequently travelling to visit domestic growers.
You will assist with managing both regional and international trial programs to identify winning varieties, while building trusted relationships with growers to convert trial success into commercial sales.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Sales & Account Management:Drive sales growth and meet regional targets by promoting commercial onion and shallot seed varieties to growers and proprietary distributors in key global markets.
Trial Management & Product Development:Set up, manage, and evaluate domestic and international onion seed trials (short, intermediate, and long-day varieties).
Meticulously record agronomic data (yield, disease resistance, storage potential) and work with the breeding team to identify oncoming pipeline genetics.
Marketing & Brand Development:Assist with organising field days, attend key industry events and develop the Magnus Kahl Seeds brand online via social media and digital platforms.
What We Are Looking For
Agronomic Background:A tertiary qualification in Agricultural Science, Horticulture,



or a related discipline or equivalent hands-on industry experience is preferable.
Proven Track Record:Experience in sales within the seed or broader agricultural sector, alongside a demonstrated ability to independently manage field trials and analyse data.
Exceptional Communication:The ability to build instant rapport with commercial growers and internal breeding teams alike.
Digital Savvy:Experience driving brand awareness through digital channels/social media, and proficiency with CRM software and Google Workspace.
Mobility & Grit:Ready for significant domestic seasonal travel (SA, VIC, NSW, TAS, QLD) and potential international travel.
A valid, unrestricted Australian Driver's License is mandatory.
Personal Traits:Resilient, highly organized, attentive to detail, honest, and possessing a good sense of humour!
