We are seeking internal applicants for an Rollingstock Maintainer Apprenticeship (Mechanical) 4-year maximum term contract.
The Operations team are results oriented and ensures train services and asset maintenance are delivered safely and reliably, in a consistent manner.
This is an exciting opportunity only advertised internal for candidates who are engaging in completing trade certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) on an 4-year maximum contract with Bowen Rail Company.
About the Role
As a Apprentice Maintainer you will work closely with key stakeholders to assist in the safe, efficient, and reliable preventative maintenance, presentation and repair of Bowen Rail Company Rollingstock and associated components and equipment tin line with safety management systems, ensuring productivity, performance, safety compliance and culture of the Maintenance function is aligned to the BRC Values.
Key Accountabilities:
Exhibit an enthusiasm to learn and hold an interest in the sector of their chosen trade.
Apprentices display an eagerness to build their knowledge and willingness to put in the effort to develop their skills
Adhere to the business' set standards as well as complying to legal regulations to ensure the safety of both the apprentice and colleagues
Ability to work to deadlines and to strict schedules, as necessary to work on maintenance and projects alongside their colleagues
Work as part a team with other Maintainers and other Bowen Rail Company workers to accomplish the maintenance objectives as efficiently as possible
Undertake all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Bowen Rail Company's Safety Management System and all other Bowen Rail Company policies as issued
Follow instructions,



ask questions if unsure and work cohesively as part of a team
Undertake all depot duties (e.g. housekeeping, cleaning etc.) necessary to ensure the facility, tools, parts and test equipment are kept clean and tidy and as part of maintaining a safe workplace
Demonstrate dedication in learning their trade and be willing to put in the extra time and effort to build their knowledge and experience.

Essential
Current Open 'C' Class Drivers Licence
STEPS Skill Program or Equivalent in High School Education
Industry Work Experience in given field of Apprenticeship
Willingness to complete required TAFE courses to complete Apprenticeship
Desirable
High Risk Licence including EWP, Rigging / Dogging, Hiab, Forklift
Certificate II in chosen field
First Aid Certificate.
SARC Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited)
