Position Type:Fixed-Term Full-Time, 12 months (9 day fortnight, ***** hours/week)
Salary Range:LGO6 ($102,640 - $109,563per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the Role:
Join Townsville City Council's Strategic Communications team and help deliver transparent, engaging and meaningful communication that supports the city's growth and community priorities.
Working closely with teams across Council, you will develop and deliver communication plans for projects, campaigns, events and initiatives, ensuring information is accessible, consistent and customer-focused.
Reporting to the General Manager Communications and Customer Experience, you will provide communications advice, build strong stakeholder relationships and help strengthen community engagement.
This role is ideal for a communications professional who enjoys collaborating with diverse teams, creating innovative engagement strategies and contributing to a high-performing team committed to service excellence.
About you:
Qualifications in Communications or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
Experience developing and delivering communication and engagement strategies, campaigns and projects.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes and collaborate across diverse groups.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities,



projects and deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes.
Experience developing and implementing integrated communication plans and evaluating their effectiveness.
Knowledge of contemporary communication and engagement practices, tools and trends.
IAP2 Certificate in Engagement (desirable).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
