The Role
This is a hands-on position where livestock handling, weed control, fencing and water system maintenance are the core priorities of the role, taking the necessary time to ensure livestock are handled in the best interests of animal welfare and maintenance jobs are completed with care and diligence.
Operating a diverse agricultural enterprise, encompassing sheep and cattle along with dual-purpose cropping across 5,600 acres in the picturesque Coolah region, the owners are deeply hands-on and value a collaborative team environment where every member is supported in their professional development.
Your responsibilities will span all facets of the operation, from livestock handling and husbandry to the precise execution of sowing and spraying programs and the diligent maintenance of farm infrastructure, fencing, water systems and machinery, ensuring every task is performed with a commitment to quality and attention to detail.
This role demands a proactive approach to pasture weed management and feral animal control, as well as a high degree of technical proficiency to operate modern livestock handling equipment, including new weighing machines and electronic recording systems.
You will also be involved in maintaining and replacing existing fences, so experience with welding steel end assemblies would be highly beneficial.
All calf marking and lamb marking is done ourselves, and we are hands-on in the shed during shearing.
The property is well-equipped with modern infrastructure, with livestock movement managed using motorbikes, quad bikes,



side-by-sides and working dogs; reflecting a long-term commitment to quality production and efficient farming practices that align with their TFI, EU and JBS accreditations.
Cattle are finished to feedlot weight, while their high-yielding lambs are finished as grass-fed.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is a physically fit, reliable, and diligent professional who possesses an imperative sense for stock, a genuine passion for high-quality animal handling, demonstrates initiative and treats machinery and equipment with due care.




You should be an experienced operator of tractors, Quik Spray and spot spraying equipment, holding a current chemical accreditation, have welding experience and a gun licence to assist with essential farm management tasks.
