Bar Wa PTY LTD is seeking an experiencedSenior Chefto join our dynamic culinary team in Hobart.
This is afull-time positionbased in Hobart, TAS ****, offering a pivotal opportunity to lead our kitchen operations and drive culinary excellence across our establishment.
As Senior Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety and presentation, whilst inspiring and mentoring junior kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
What you'll be doing
Leading and managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating and presentation of dishes
Developing and implementing innovative menu items whilst maintaining consistency with established culinary standards
Ensuring strict adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene protocols and health and safety requirements at all times
Training, supervising and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high performance and professional standards
Managing kitchen inventory, ordering supplies and controlling food costs without compromising on quality
Monitoring portion control and food quality to ensure every dish meets our established benchmarks
Collaborating with management to plan menus, special events and seasonal offerings
Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment in compliance with all relevant legislation
Responding to customer feedback and continuously improving culinary offerings
What we're looking for
Minimum 5+ years' professional experience as a chef in a busy kitchen environment
Proven leadership and team management experience with the ability to train and develop junior kitchen staff
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, health and hygiene regulations and best practices in commercial kitchen operations
Solid culinary skills with proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines
Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
A creative mindset with the ability to develop new menus and adapt existing ones to suit seasonal availability and customer preferences
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (such as relevant culinary training or hospitality qualifications) are advantageous
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to working with front-of-house and management teams
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation
