Job Description
Coastline Panel & Paint Max Auto Smash Repairs Core Duties and Responsibilities Electronic Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform complex electronic fault-finding and diagnostics on collision-damaged vehicles using specialized automotive scan tools and computers.
DTC Management: Read, interpret, and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), establishing clear pathways for resetting electronic control units (ECUs).
Pre & Post-Scan Assessments: Conduct exhaustive pre-scan assessments to map crash impact damage and post-scan vehicle assessments to certify mechanical safety before delivery.
System Calibration & Configuration: Execute accurate calibration and configuration of advanced electronic vehicle systems, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as radar, cameras, proximity sensors, and airbag modules.
Technical Assessment & Repair Planning: Conduct physical and electronic assessments of vehicle damage, supporting management with repair planning, determining OEM repair procedures, and identifying safety-critical mechanical and electronic components.
Maintenance & Repair Execution: Perform mechanical assembly/disassembly, routine, and emergency maintenance on mechanical assemblies, steering geometry, suspension components, and hydraulic systems impacted by collision forces.
Procurement Support: Prepare highly accurate parts lists, component requirements, and specialized technical repair specifications.
Quality Control & Compliance: Perform strict quality control inspections post-repair, verifying exact component alignment, fitment, and electronic functionality.




Workshop Technical Support: Provide active technical guidance to panel beating and body-repair staff during vehicle strip and refit operations.
Documentation: Fully document diagnostic data, calibration results, and repair procedures to maintain compliance with safety and insurance frameworks.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications: A relevant formal qualification Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience working with complex electromechanical assemblies, technical diagnostics, and system testing/calibration.
Prior experience diagnosing faults using technical scanners and software is essential.
Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to trouble shoot, investigate and rectify Exceptional ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, mechanical designs, and electronic circuit paths.
Strong diagnostic capabilities and a methodical approach to system calibration are required.
High-level attention to detail for safety-critical component alignment
