We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious moulder operator to join our team who can ensure their work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
The successful applicant will be mechanically minded, confident using workshop tools & equipment, and is comfortable working in a busy factory environment.
Job Qualifications / Skills
Essential:MEM***** Certificate III in Engineering – Casting and Moulding
Desirable skills but not essential:Forklift license and First Aid Certificate
This is a permanent full-time position Monday-Thursday 7:00am to 3:30pm and Friday 7:00am to 1:30 pm.
There is a set lunch break half hour period and a paid morning tea break.
Pay is a competitive above award rate commensurate with your skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Foundry
·Mould Preparation:Create sand moulds as required
·Core Setting:Make and position cores within the mould as required for the final casting.
·Melting & Pouring:Operate foundry furnaces to melt iron and steel.
Transfer the molten metal to moulds and be involved in all pouring as directed.
·Equipment Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance on moulding machinery, sand-mixing equipment, furnaces and other foundry plant as required.
·Safety Compliance:Follow strict safety protocols regarding protective equipment (PPE), ventilation, and the handling of extreme temperatures and molten materials.
·Additional Duties:Operate theLoader, Cranes, Forklifts as driver if licenced, also assist with knockouts.
Quality / Environmental
· Maintain areas outside of building to ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines
· Report issues and incidents as appropriate to Foundry Foreman
· Comply with the requirements of the Operations Manual and ISO ****
· Comply with the requirements of the Employee Handbook MCK 50 including maintaining Company confidentiality in relation to customers, products and processes
· Contribute and promote an workplace of continual improvement
