About the role
We are seeking an experiencedWelderto join our production team at our Pakenham, Victoria facility on afull-time basis.
This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in our manufacturing operations, where precision welding and attention to detail are essential.
As a Welder at YLZ Truck Bodies, you will be responsible for fabricating and joining metal components to exact specifications, contributing directly to the quality and durability of our truck bodies and trailers.
Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our reputation for excellence and reliability in the transport industry.
What you'll be doing
Performing various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) on steel and aluminium components to join parts according to specifications and technical drawings
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication
Setting up and operating welding equipment, including ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of machinery
Inspecting completed welds for quality,



structural integrity and adherence to industry standards and specifications
Preparing work pieces through cutting, grinding, and fitting prior to welding
Collaborating with other team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to specification
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and quality
What we're looking for
Trade qualification or formal certification in welding, such as a welding certificate from an accredited training provider
Demonstrated experience working as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, preferably in the transport, automotive or heavy engineering sectors
Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG and stick welding on both steel and aluminium
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and specifications accurately
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality welds that meet strict tolerances
Sound knowledge of health and safety practices specific to welding operations,



including safe handling of equipment and materials
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical fitness and the ability to work comfortably in a workshop environment, including standing for extended periods and working at heights when required
Reliability and a robust work ethic with a commitment to punctuality and professional conduct
Prior experience in truck body, trailer or heavy vehicle manufacturing is highly desirable
