About the role
Part time 12 month fixed term position (0.8) based in Glenside, SA with a chance for the role to become ongoing.
Reporting directly to the National Manager Dementia-Friendly Communities, you will be responsible for:
Encouraging and empowering communities to be inclusive of and value the contributions of people living with dementia
Coordinating and delivering community forums and workshops to connect key stakeholders for creating dementia-friendly communities
Identifying and actively supporting communities to establish action groups to engage individuals living with dementia, their carers, and key stakeholders in implementing and facilitating local initiatives, programs, and activities
Identifying and collaborating with special needs groups, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTIQ+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people living in rural/remote areas and isolated communities to provide appropriate tailored information.

You will also receive 17.5% annual leave loading and the option to purchase additional leave.

About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:
Relevant degree with 1-2 years relevant experience.
Lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience
Knowledge of dementia and its impact on the person living with dementia and their families and carers
Demonstrated ability in delivering high quality presentations, workshops and information sessions utilising effective group facilitation skills
Experience building collaborative relationships with community organisations, advocates, and key stakeholders to develop innovative, inclusive, and consumer-informed services, projects, and programs in community settings
Exceptional organisation, self-direction, and communication skills
Demonstrates a strong commitment to a quality culture, implementing standards of excellence and a continuous improvement focus
