Bar Manager (Hospitality Professional)

Canopy is an independent wine and cocktail bar in Adelaide's west end, built around thoughtful hospitality and a genuine passion for food and drink.
Canopy is looking for a Bar Manager to help shape the next chapter of our venue.
This is not a traditional bar manager role.
While exceptional cocktail knowledge and bar leadership is essential, Canopy sits at the intersection of wine, food and hospitality.
Our programme includes intimate tastings, guest chef residencies, wine dinners and collaborative events.
We're looking for someone who thrives in an evolving environment and wants to contribute beyond the bar itself.
The successful applicant will be equally comfortable leading a busy service, working alongside chefs and sommeliers, responding to function enquiries and helping refine how the venue operates.
The role includes:
Leading all day to day bar operations.
Developing and evolving Canopy's signature cocktail programme.
Managing ordering, stock control and monthly stock takes.
Maintaining high service standards and mentoring the bar team.
Restaurant style administration including responding to function enquiries and managing bookings.
Collaborating with chefs and sommeliers on beverage matching and event development.
Assisting in the planning and execution of wine dinners,



masterclasses and special events.
Driving continual improvement across systems, service and guest experiences.
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience as a Bar Manager or senior supervisor in a premium hospitality workplace.
Ideally has restaurant floor experience at a supervisor or management level.
Is highly organised and confident with administrative responsibilities.
Has excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Enjoys working collaboratively across bar, floor and kitchen teams.
Thinks creatively and is motivated to help develop a venue rather than simply maintain it.
Leads by example with professionalism, composure and genuine hospitality.

38 hours per week plus reasonable overtime - optional Thurs to Sun roster.
$70-$75k per annum (all inclusive).
