Our client, a globally recognised resources organisation operating a large-scale underground mine and processing facility in Queensland, is seeking an experiencedMaintenance Leadto oversee the planning and scheduling function for its fixed plant maintenance team.
This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a team of seven maintenance planning professionals while driving maintenance excellence, asset reliability, and operational performance across a complex underground processing environment.
The Opportunity
TheMaintenance Leadwill be responsible for leading the maintenance planning and scheduling team, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance execution across critical fixed plant assets.
You will play a pivotal role in improving planning standards, enhancing schedule compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that support production and asset performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Drive best-practice maintenance planning and scheduling processes across underground fixed plant operations
Establish and maintain high standards for planning quality, schedule stability, and backlog management
Improve maintenance workflow discipline, execution efficiency, and labour productivity
Partner closely with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to optimise asset performance
Ensure maintenance priorities align with asset criticality, operational risk, and shutdown readiness
Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with all site and statutory requirements
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across maintenance systems and processes
Maintain effective utilisation of SAP PM and work management systems




Skills & ExperiencePrevious leadership experience within maintenance planning, maintenance execution, or maintenance management environments
Strong fixed plant maintenance background within mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, and Engineering functions
Experience improving planning disciplines, maintenance processes, and team performance
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on reliability and risk management
SAP PM experience essential
QualificationsTrade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline and/or
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related field
Bachelor of Engineering highly regarded
