MyPeople Disability and Support is a NDIS Service Provider with offices based in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Darwin, Hobart, Canberra, and Brisbane.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding, vibrant, and supportive team to support NDIS participants to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Your primary responsibility will be to support our participants to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life.
We are currently seeking experienced support workers across metropolitan Melbourne.
About the role:
At MyPeople Disability and Support, we are seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support to children living with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions.
The successful applicant will have previous experience working with children withintellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory processing differences, developmental delays, and behaviours of concern.
You will understand the importance of building trust, creating structured routines, and adapting your approach to meet each child's individual communication, sensory, and emotional needs.
This role involves supporting children to develop independence, social skills, emotional regulation, and confidence while participating in community activities and everyday routines.
The ideal candidate will be patient, engaging,



and able to respond calmly and positively to challenging situations using evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centred practices.
We are looking for someone who is confident in:
Supporting children with intellectual disabilities, ASD, ADHD, and sensory processing needs.
Implementing structured routines and using positive behaviour support strategies.
Assisting with community access, recreational activities, and skill development.
Building meaningful relationships with participants and their families.
Promoting independence while ensuring the child's safety and wellbeing.
Communicating effectively with families, therapists, and the broader support team.
Providing support in a respectful, professional, and child-focused manner.
Previous experience supporting children with complex behavioural, developmental, or sensory needs is highly desirable.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you will have:
Previous experience supporting children with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing differences,



and developmental delays.
Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies and managing behaviours of concern in a calm, respectful, and child-focused manner.
A strong understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and person-centred approaches to disability support.
The ability to build positive relationships with children, families, therapists, and other members of the support team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to each child's individual needs.
A patient, compassionate, and engaging approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their goals.
A minimum of6 months' experienceworking in the disability, education, allied health, or community services sector supporting children with disabilities.
A commitment to providing safe, respectful, and high-quality support while promoting independence, inclusion, and community participation.

NDIS Worker Screening Check
Completed NDIS Orientation Module
Current FA & CPR Certificates
Cert IV Disability or other relevant qualifications
Must have at least 6 months experience
Ability to start immediately
