Our client, a local Council located eight kilometres east of the Perth CBD, is seeking an experiencedCommunity Engagement Officerto join their team on a6 to 7 month contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within local government, leading initiatives that positively impact seniors, people living with disability, and the wider community.
About the Role:
Working within a collaborative and community-focused team, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering engagement initiatives that strengthen community participation and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver community engagement initiatives.
Coordinate and promote programs for key awareness events, including International Day of People with Disability and other community campaigns.
Manage advisory groups, reference committees and networking forums.
Foster productive relationships across Council and with community organisations.
Undertake research, analyse information and prepare reports to support informed decision-making.
Contribute to strategies that enhance participation, accessibility and community well being.




About You:To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in community engagement, community development or a similar role.
Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups.
Robust facilitation, communication and relationship-building skills.
Excellent research, analytical and report writing abilities.
Knowledge of current legislation, policies and emerging trends relating to seniors and disability services.
Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Requirements:Current National Police Clearance issued within the last 12 months (or willingness to obtain one).
Ability to commence immediately or at short notice.
