Located in the Gold Coast, Grand Tiling Services is a tiling company providing services in the Gold Coast and Brisbane region for both commercial and residential properties.
Our service includes tiling work, waterproofi ng and for the convenience of our customers and builders, we also supply tiles.
We seek a full-time experienced Head Wall & Floor Tiler in the Gold Coast and Brisbane region.
The successful candidate will:
1. Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered and layout work check and interpret plans and specifi cations
2. Prepare wall and fl oor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, cement and adhesives
3. Fill all holes and cracks and clean the surfaces
4. Attach tiles to surfaces, using correct adhesive, making sure that patterned tiles match
5. Use tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles
6. Space and even the tiles by using tools such as spirit levels, squares and plumb-lines prepare and apply grout, get rid of excess grout, clean and polish tiles
7. Lay fl oors of cement, granolithic, terrazzo or similar composition
8. Apply waterproofi ng systems
9. Carry out screeding, grouting,
and caulking
10. Handle fl oor tiling materials and equipment
11. Ensure high quality workmanship details and fi nishings
12. Observe and practice Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S;) requirements
13. Manage and supervise all tilers
14. Preparing weekly rosters for onsite staff
15. Ordering required materials and ensuring constant fl ow of material.
16. Site visits to measure and inspect.
17. Assist to reduce costs on site and work within set budget.
Qualification:
AQF Certifi cate III including at least two years of on-the-job training / AQF Certifi cate IV OR at least three years full time of relevant experience
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. At least 3 years full-time work experience as a wall and floor tiler
2. Holds a White Card and Tiling certificate
3. Experience working with epoxy grout
4. Experience working with mosaic tiling
5. Reliable and hard working
6. Able to work independently
7. Excellent work ethic
8. Precision, accuracy and attention to details
9. Work safely and tidily
10. Good communication skills with co-workers and clients
Salary:
$85k - $110k plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience)
