Your role at St John of God Richmond We are seeking to recruit a Gardener to join our Maintenance & Engineering team at Richmond, on a permanent full-time basis.
In this role, you will ensure a safe, comfortable and attractive workplace of the grounds within complex and to assist maintenance and engineering services in maintaining the complex to a safe standard.
The Position
Maintain the gardens and grounds to a protected, environmentally friendly and attractive standard.
Report any malfunctions or safety issues with machinery or tools.
Assist in servicing and maintaining garden machinery and equipment in a safe manner, to ensure equipment is complaint and in good working order.
Ensure security of machinery and tools.
Ensure chemicals and garden supplies are stored in accordance with work cover requirements.
Ensure there is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) available and understood for each chemical used in the ground's services.
Assist the maintenance services as directed by the Manager to attend to maintenance tasks arising as a safety issue, lack of maintenance staff or urgency of the task.
Maintain the swimming pool to a hygienic standard by regular cleaning testing and micro biological sampling and testing of the pool water.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of gardening, lawn maintenance, chemicals and fertilisers, as well as garden machinery handling, safe operating procedures and maintenance.
You will be a team player and have a sound knowledge of the NSW Workplace Health & Safety Act **** and NSW Workplace Health and Safety Regulations ****.
Successful applicants must have a Certificate 3 in Horticulture,
or equivalent work experience, valid NSW Driver's license and National Police Clearance.
