We are growing and are looking for a capable Client Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of business clients.
This role would suit someone who enjoys client contact, reviewing and coaching team members, keeping jobs moving, and helping business owners make better decisions.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Client Manager / Business Services Manager to join our Adelaide office.
You will be the day-to-day contact for a portfolio of SME clients, working closely with directors and supported by our local and offshore team.
You will plan and manage client work, review financial statements, tax returns and BAS/IAS, and help deliver practical advice across compliance, reporting and business performance.
This is a hands-on client management role with room to grow.
You will have direct access to directors, exposure to interesting advisory work, and the opportunity to help shape how we continue to improve our systems and client service.
What you will be doing
Act as the day-to-day advisor for a portfolio of SME clients.
Run client planning calls, scope work, set expectations and keep jobs moving.
Review financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS prepared by the team.
Identify and resolve tax, accounting and compliance issues before they reach the client.
Deliver or review monthly and quarterly management reports, cash flow insights and 3-way forecasts.
Provide practical commercial advice to clients, not just compliance answers.
Coach junior and senior accountants through clear review notes and regular feedback.
Coordinate with the ATO, ASIC and external advisors where required.
Contribute to process improvement,



training and better use of systems and technology.
Help manage WIP, recoverability, scope and client expectations.
About you
You are likely to be an experienced Senior Accountant, Assistant Manager or Client Manager from a public practice/business services background.
You will ideally bring:
7+ years' experience in business services, tax or public practice.
CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent.
Strong Australian tax and accounting knowledge across companies, trusts, individuals and business groups.
Confidence reviewing financial statements, tax returns and BAS/IAS.
Solid Xero experience and confidence with Excel and cloud-based tools.
A clear and practical communication style.
The ability to build trust quickly with clients.
A commercial mindset around scope, fees, WIP and job profitability.
A genuine interest in coaching team members and improving work quality.
Interest in advisory, management reporting, dashboards, forecasting or data analytics would be highly regarded.
