Tasmanian Home Nursing & Community Support (THN&CS;) is a locally owned and operated provider of disability support, nursing and community care services across Tasmania.
As our organisation continues to grow, we're looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Receptionist / Administration Officer to become an integral member of our office team.
We're open to appointing either an experienced administrator or the right trainee.
For us, attitude, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn are just as important as previous experience.
About the Role
This is a diverse and fast-paced role where no two days are the same.
You'll be the welcoming face of our organisation while providing administrative support across several areas of the business.
In addition to reception and administration duties, you'll work closely with our rostering team to help ensure our participants continue receiving reliable, high-quality supports.
You'll also participate in ourafter-hours on-call roster approximately one week per month, providing telephone support for urgent staffing matters.
Full training and support will be provided before joining the on-call roster.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a busy reception area and welcoming visitors
Answering a high volume of incoming phone calls and ensuring timely follow-up
Responding to email enquiries
General administration and data entry
Maintaining accurate participant and staff records
Assisting with onboarding and compliance documentation
Providing administrative support to our rostering team




Assisting with staff scheduling and shift changes as required
Maintaining office supplies and presentation
Learning new systems and helping improve office processes
Participating in the after-hours on-call roster (approximately one week per month)
Essential Requirements (Experienced Applicants)
Previous experience in a receptionist or administration role
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Experience managing a high volume of phone calls while maintaining excellent customer service
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn new software and systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise competing tasks in a busy environment
A positive, team-focused attitude

Desirable Experience
Experience within the disability, aged care or community services sector
Knowledge of the NDIS




Experience using Brevity software
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Teams
Experience in rostering or scheduling
Certificate III or IV in Business Administration (or willingness to undertake as a trainee)

Possibility of Part-time for the right applicant/s in a job share arrangement with a 12:00pm-5:00pm roster.
