We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IVF Laboratory Technician to join our team at Fertility Tasmania.
This role supports the day-to-day operations of the embryology laboratory, ensuring a high standard of laboratory practice, quality assurance, and patient care.
Working closely with our embryologists and clinical team, you will contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, media, and consumables.
Perform routine laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
Monitor, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering of laboratory supplies.
Assist with specimen handling and laboratory workflows under the direction of senior laboratory staff.
Adhere to all quality management, infection control, and workplace health and safety requirements.
Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
Support the embryology team to ensure optimal laboratory performance and patient outcomes.
About You
Qualification in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related scientific discipline.
Previous laboratory experience is desirable; experience in an IVF or fertility laboratory is highly regarded but not essential.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work in a rapid-paced, highly regulated environment while maintaining accuracy.
